1. The Lord's Day — The primary purpose of our Sunday worship is to glorify God and address the spiritual needs of the body of Christ. Our commitment as disciples is to partake of the Lord’s Supper, worship God as an assembly, listen to the Word preached, share encouragement, give offerings, inspire faith, and spur on a life of lordship.
By staying connected during the week, we also strive to take our Sunday renewal and enthusiasm to love God into each day of the week since we believe that loving God and one another is a 24/7 priority to the Lord.
2. Small Groups are primarily intended to meet the relational needs of Christians and for reaching out to people. Disciples minister to one another through close discipling relationships and have activities that introduce people to the Church. Groups also have the freedom to arrange personal bible studies during this time if seekers are pursuing God and need a consistent time to meet.
In order for the group to function effectively, each group leader should help members use their gifts and/or have a role to fulfill. Groups should also have an assistant leader who understands at some point in the process the group will split, at which time they would lead the group. Then both groups would train new aspiring assistant leaders to join in the work and increase our capacity to grow while continuing to meet needs.
Whether in homes or out in the community, we strive to imitate Jesus' principles of reaching out: 1) Come and see, 2) Come follow me, 3) Come and be with me, 4) Remain in me and go make disciples.
3. Midweek and Discipleship Times are typically designed to pray with, play with, practice with, and urge the Church to grow. We’ll pray during the “Time of Prayer,” we’ll pray for the needs, activities, one another and seekers studying the Bible. We’ll play together through various sports, “Bible Bowl” and simply enjoying one another’s company by having fun together. We’ll practice together through scripture memorization, discipleship support with putting into practice what we are learning, practice for Sunday Services, practice singing or song leading, practice speaking, preaching or rehearsing. We’ll push each other through deeper Bible study, have occasional Fun Quizzes and helping each other to be prepared to give an answer to anyone for the hope that we have in Christ.
Discipleship Times: All disciples should have a partner in the gospel to give mutual encouragement in remaining faithful to the teachings of Jesus.
4. Serving Opportunities are viewed as serving Jesus through helping his Church, serving the poor and needy, and community involvment. This would include HOPE Worldwide projects, feeding the poor at City Gate, Meals on Wheels, house construction projects in Juarez, serving orphans through helping to support an orphanage in Juarez Mexico, giving blood to the Inland NW Blood Bank, Relay for Life, and finally participating in community events such as Bloomsday, Spike and Dig and Hoop-fest.
There are many opportunities to serve the Church whether building and grounds, various leadership roles, worship team, cooking, planning, ushering, administration, and communications.
